The
Bridge to
Medicine Program is an educational program for high school students interested in pursuing a career in
medicine. This partnership will expose high school students to what it takes to pursue a career in the
medical field, while also connecting them with current BIPOC
medical students and health professionals for mentorship.
There are two ways to be involved with the program (and also get your chapter required service hours in the process). We have a slew of virtual workshops and panels, and you can help us put them together or be a speaker. Check out the dates, roles, and sign-up
here.
You can also support the mentorship component of this partnership, through the big/little program. The big/little program will serve as a direct path for high school students to build community with individuals currently in
medical school so they can feel comfortable asking any career questions that they may have. Big/little partners are expected to attend all community-building events (4 total in the year) and maintain communication as it seems appropriate throughout the year. Being big in this part of the
Bridge to
Medicine program will fulfill all yearly SNMA community service requirements. We have limited spots, so make sure to sign-up
here fast!
We are excited to finally get this program going, and hope you are too! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out.
With appreciation,
Your community service chairs
