Regardless of all the alleged security benefits, this is a step back
for Adobe with this proprietary "standard". The comments on the above
link seem to suggest that we are not alone in our belief.
We'll continue to seek workarounds to this issue, although given that
Flash 10 is already released with this anal-retentive functionality,
we might take some time. Thank you for your patience!

Hey guys, here is a free JavaScript / Flash library that provides copy-
to-clipboard functionality in Flash Player 10:

This is super, Jhuckaby. Great code.
Does this circumvent the Flash requirement that a manual click is
required *inside* a Flash movie? If so, that'll be excellent and I'll
try to get this adapted to SnipURL.
Report abuse: http://snipr.com/site/reportspam - Please use this web-
based spam
submission as it instantly flags the abused snipurl for further review
by us. Thanks.

Hey Shashank,
Yes, it circumvents the Flash requirement by floating an invisible SWF movie on top of your copy-to-clipboard button, or any DOM element of your choice. So the user actually *is* clicking on a Flash movie which initiates the clipboard operation. So this works in both Flash Player 9 and 10.
I look forward to seeing this in SnipURL!
- Joe

I have flas 9 and opera 9.6
The snipurl doesn't copy anything
but old flas based copy-to-clipboard works?
how can that be?

I am guessing you are on Mac OSX. Or, some of this behavior is also
caused by the latest Flash update for Flash 9.
Please follow the instructions for Firefox and Flash 10 --
http://snipr.com/flash10 and you should be fine.
