Expand triggers in Textmate

I'm in the process of setting up a new laptop and have installed textmate and snippets app. I know that there is something special you have to do in order to get the expand triggers to work in textmate but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it working. Any help would be appreciated.

You should "Enable access for assistive devices". Open System Preferences —> Accessibility and enable checkbox "Enable access for assistive devices".
