Snippet menu item question

I'm testing out Snippet, and I'm a bit confused as to what the menu
item is supposed to do. I can search for snippets there, but if
Snippets isn't working I can't actually do anything with them. I had
assumed if you selected a search result something like copying to
clipboard or insert into the frontmost app would happen.

Is this not implemented yet? Or am I missing something?

Hi Neil,

If you focus a text field in any application and click the item in the Global Menu or Search Panel, then corresponding snippet should be inserted into the focused textfield.
Also, press and hold Option key before clicking to insert snippet into Clipboard instead of the active application.
