Latest with sharing snippets and custom highlighting?

Hi there,

I just bought Snippets as it said that I could share my Snippets
library with others but I don't see a solution for this?

Do we share via FTP or Dropbox? The FAQ is very sparse and the help
file isn't much use either.

Also there are lots of replies in this forum saying that custom
highlighting will be available from 1.0 but I have 1.3.2 and I don't
see any way to create them.

Can you shed some light on the above two please?

Hi,

Currently you can share only group of snippets, not the whole library.

To do that please follow this instructions:

1. Right click the group you want to share to open a context menu

2. Choose "Create Datastore" and locate it in a publicly available folder (in your case Dropbox folder)

3. Open Snippets.app on another Mac and Link any Sidebar group with the same Datastore located in the public folder

Custom highlights were introduced in 1.2. Here is a documentation on the highlight file format https://github.com/snippets/Snippets-Highlights/wiki/Snippets-Highlight-file-format and here is the repository of all existing highlights that you can use as examples https://github.com/snippets/Snippets-Highlights.

… just found that "Smart Albums" cannot be shared so… I hope a better sharing solution is on the way ;-)

I hope your solution is not set in stone. My need is to share my
entire library .. not a manually updated group. If you allowed this
to work on Smart Groups, then that would be acceptable, but definitely
not the way it's currently solutioned
