How do I emulate a modified memory implementation?

Hello,

I am new to sniper-sim and this will be my first attempt at modifying an existing configuration for a small project. For my project, I intend to modify the DRAM and compare the performance of my test application with and without the modifications.

What is the best way to go forward? I don't want to be spoon-fed information on how to write my project, but birds-eye level view of what needs to be done will be very helpful!
