IHSAA 5A Regional Snider at Mishawaka

Thank you for all you do on behalf of developmental, education based sports in Fort Wayne and beyond.

Here is this week’s media guide:
Snider at Mishawaka Media Guide 2023

Series History Tidbits:
- Snider is 3-0 all-time versus Mishawaka.
- Snider and Mishawaka have only ever met in the IHSAA playoffs and always in the Regional Championship round:

2015 - Snider won 42-32 at Wayne Stadium (Fort Wayne)

Snider went on the win the State Championship that season. 

2016 - Snider won 31-7 at Spuller Stadium (Fort Wayne)

Snider went on to lose in a sleet storm in the Semistate Championship 

2022 - Snider won 41-27 at Steele Stadium (Mishawaka)

- 2022’s game was a typical game summary for the rare times Mishawaka lose:

an early lead plus extreme ball control offense undone by a flash of athletic ability from the opponent and opportunistic offense off of turnovers. Snider was down 21-0 before Senior Kamari Juarez’s kickoff return for a TD to end the first half. Snider went on to score 28 points in the third quarter and convert two turnovers into scoring drives making it 35-21 before two late scores by each team to finish the game.

- Strange coincidence: In the last year of just five classes of IHSAA tournament football, Snider's runner up appearance in the 2012 5A State Championship (39-14 loss to Lawrence Central) was played immediately following Mishawaka's runner up appearance in the 2012 4A State Championship (56-29 loss to Cathedral)
