Withthe recent closing of Kolor/Panotour, one of the tools that gained visibility is 3dvista, which surely you've seen before. IMO this guys have managed over the years to create a decent platform with a very lean UI interface, on first sight this one looks pretty advanced but on second evaluation, there's nothing there that krpano can't do, it could even be krpano based, well, almost.
After a dedicate examination of their offer only thing I found that is beyond krpano capabilities are the transitions among panoramas they offer, you can see those at "arrow hotspots" ( _panorama.html) and in their "Live pano" option ( _pano_ny.html) which blend two scenes in a very smooth continuous way beyond of krpanos graphical engine.
Some months ago I developed my own "Street View Arrows" hotspots, which include a displacement animation to add that "movement feeling" at user experience( -rupestre-touch/ FullHD touch screen experience, so it may not look optimal but let's you see the example). In that case I tuned the most the animations to be as close as possible to Mr. Google's, and in the end I noticed that Krpano wouldn't provide me the same graphical experience as I concluded it's graphical engine is different (correct me if I'm wrong).
I don't know how hard it would be for us to have the same (or better) kind of transitions but certainly is something I'd like to see in a future version as it would add that extra "3d feeling" effect we're missing now. Matterport has a similar smooth transitions among their spheres which also creates this wow techy factor, I know their engine is completely different but it's another example in the field of "modern virtual tours" just to ilustrate my point.
you dont click on a specific spot on the ground (where the camera was)
but you have these floating arrows showing if there is a hotspot in a direction
this way you can move around without turning if the spot is actually behind you
Hey! thanks indexofrefraction, I like this nav system as well although idea wasn't mine, I just coded in krpano google's old "Street View" 3d arrow system, something like "Garrows" plugin but with the current 3d displacement anims.
If Krpano had a better transition system where it could overlay two panos simultaneously for a longer time, the quality of the effect would increase much more, which is what 3dvista already offers.
Let's see what Klaus says.
Best
But when I tried to start the livepano back using a button, the transition will not keepview and keepmoving. instead it will immediate transition to another rather then having the same loadscene settings
Love the new panorama tour ability and the accessibility of viewing through web browsers. I do wish there was an option to change the pan / look control to touch instead of only having gyroscopic controls. That way during client meetings you can simply look around with your finger so everyone can see. I understand that right now you can rotate your camera by touching but the camera is locked to a certain elevation right now. Is there going to be an option for this in the future? Thanks!
Yes, I understand you can rotate but I'm looking for something similar to google street view as an example or other browser based 360 image viewers like matterport. Please see attached video as an example. Hopefully the video helps describe what I mean better.
loganh96 If you're wanting to be able to navigate between the panos then you'll need to build a tour using the rendered panos in the likes of 3DVista, there's a not-insignificant process in linking the panos together and I've never seen an automatic way of doing it.
I appreciate the info but I didn't mean navigation in my original post. I'm afraid this got more complicated than I intended, I really was just wondering if instead of requiring you to use "your device motion sensors" [like the attached screenshot shows], you could use your finger to look around. Right now, you can use your finger to rotate 180 degrees but the looking is still controlled by your devices motion sensors. Does that make sense?
Separately and not an issue for 360's hosted by enscape, if you personally plan to host your own 360's, your site needs to be https enabled (not oldschool http). An SSL is needed to maintain IOS security.
The model itself is seperate from enscape being able to output 360 panoramas. Certainly enscape in sketchup can output this format of render. Its, i believe, the button next to the standard image render in enscape.
The first-ever Keyboard element (container) for password entry.
Entirely built inside 3dvista, so no additional scripting knowledge required.
If you have a restricted Panorama and wish to provide one password for everyone (paid visit) to get the access then this can be used.
Can provide secure password method for various tasks as the submit button is going to cause a user included action so any type of action can be defined.
Still, png instructions set for Desktop and mobile which you can directly place inside 3dvista.
Easy to use and can include text from your own language.
Desktop and mobile instructions are included.
An advanced skin for the advance users.
It allows you to have more space to view the panorama while keeping the menus hidden.
The tabs are fully customized and built within 3DVista.
Customize the colour of the elements to your liking.
Fully responsive for desktop and mobile version.
Icons can be changed further and the properties of the tab can be changed as well.
This version was developed specifically for users who use the 3DVista Cloud Hosting service It uses an external cloud service to execute php scripts and store the images taken (One year of photo storage is included from code creation).

3dvista offers features other virtual tour authoring platforms do not. The ability to embed various elearning aspects and 360 video is something important to us and 3dvista allows us to do this. It also offers many ways to customize the tour.
The interface takes a bit to understand as it is not like any interface people have used - such as microsoft or mac etc. Once you learn where things are an how they work it makes more sense. But initially it is intimidating.
Comments:In short. I love it. For the price, this software has blown my mind. I've worked with companies overseas to develop software for the companies i've worked at. Paying over 1.5 million for one piece all being told and it didn't come close to the depth thought that has gone into building this. I'm so impressed by their support, their updates and the output from the software. Would highly recommend this software if you're in the market.
-Customer support is fantastic, always fast and have always been able to answer my questions on how to do this or that.-The fact it's a one off payment for a lifetime license is fantastic!-I like the fact it's offline, although this is also a CON but I'll talk about the Pro element. Working offline on my computer rather than in browser makes for much faster editing, i've used various online software's and have always been limited in speed, constantly having to wait for uploads etc etc. Also makes it easier for me to control content backups.-The export functions are fantastic website, hosted cloud, exe, social or even street view direct!-Adding Analytics couldn't be easier and works well (have tracked several campaigns)-Constantly updating it with new functionality suggested by the community. the frequency of these updates is unlike anything i've experienced with a software company, this month (October 2020) they've released 7! And while some are bug fixes for the craziest little hidden bugs usually they consist of fantastic software upgrades.-Help videos and FAQ guides are very comprehensive-Has an in-built e-learning environment/addon which is amazing as this software alone can cost thousands of dollars-In built tour/group video conferencing. Works seamlessly and has been instrumental for our use.-Comes with a stack of inbuilt icons and skins to get you up and going but allows you to import any content yourself if you wish. No restrictions that i've found here.
-Team Sharing, there is no ability to team share a project and work on it simultaneously. in 2020 this is a pretty important thing to have and it's one of the only let-downs of this software. You can export the and another member of your team import that file and work on it but you can't work on it at the same time. that team member would have to do their work, then export back to you to re-import etc. it's a slow process. While they have cloud storage this is just for hosting the end product, not for hosting the working files for joint editing access. If you need to collaborate live on a 360 tour then this software isn't for you.-The learning curve on this is pretty blunt, you kind of just have to immerse yourself and give it a crack. I can usually pick up new software pretty fast, this took a little while of building maybe 3-4 tours before I really felt like I was mastering the software. Not something you could pickup and master in a day.-Doesn't automatically build a floorplan from your panoramas as does many of the other online editors.
