Dear SnapEditor Users,

We are sorry to inform you that we will be stopping all development efforts on SnapEditor. The uptake of SnapEditor has not been as quick as we had hoped and we can no longer sustain operations. We had tried several measures to mitigate the problems but it was not enough.

We will be releasing all SnapEditor related code on Github under LGPL as is.  This will allow SnapEditor to continue if others would like to take over or if you would still like to use it. There are a few things that haven't been released yet that are in the released code. If you're interested, please check them out.

We will continue to answer questions through email and on the SnapEditor Google Group for the time being, but we will be completely shutting down in the next few weeks.

Regards,
The SnapEditor Team

Disappointing news to say the least.  In my opinion you guys have a better editor than Aloha.

Hi,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We agree with you, which is why the decision to drop this was so hard. Hopefully it will have some life in the open source world.

Cheers,
Wesley

This is indeed sad news. Could you add a compiled snapeditor.js to the github? Unfortunately I'm not that much into compiling in js.
All the best to your future projects!
Cheers Tom

Hi Tom,

SnapEditor 2.0.0 can still be found here if you just want to get your hands on it.

However, the link will not be up indefinitely.

Cheers,
Wesley

Is/When is SnapEditor going to be released on GitHub?  We have some interest in it's use.  Looks like a great solution to some of our problems.
