The MCX SPEAR is Sig Sauer’s submission to the U.S. Army Next Generation Squad Weapon Program – a program intended to replace the current M4A1. This advanced AR-Platform comes fully equipped with a wide array of Sig exclusive features and user-friendly designs. The MCX SREAR is outfitted with fully ambidextrous controls including the safety and bolt release, as well as two non-reciprocating charging handles, one mounted on the left side and one at the rear. To ensure superior accuracy, the MCX SPEAR utilizes a Chrome Lined DLC barrel and a 2-stage match trigger. The MCX SPEAR is also optimized with a 6-position, collapsible and foldable stock and a 2-position adjustable gas block. Other features include a chambering in Sig’s own 227 Sig Fury – a high-velocity cartridge that out performs ammunition of the same class by delivering increased energy on target and decreased bullet drop. 227 Sig Fury is the commercial version of the U.S. Army’s 6.8x51mm ammunition, and a coupon for two boxes is included with the MCX SPEAR package. The MCX SPEAR also comes standard with the SLX Lo-Tox suppressor directly from the factory. This muzzle device was designed for use with supersonic ammunition, and utilizes an internal multi-flow path that allows gasses to vent more rapidly than standard baffle-type suppressors. This results in up to 70 to 80% less toxic fumes flowing back through the ejection port into the shooter’s face as well as greatly reduced flash signature.
