Mellanox ConnectX-4 PRM (datasheet) to be released

Howdy,

I am very pleased to share the news that Mellanox will publicly release the Programmer's Reference Manual (PRM) for their ConnectX-4 ethernet card!

The PRM is the reference documentation for driver development. Releasing this without NDA will make Mellanox hardware accessible to Snabb Switch and other independent open source developers.

ConnectX-4 cards are available in 10G/25G/40G/50G/100G varieties and I understand that the same driver works for all cards. That sounds luxurious! The hardware prices are very competitive too (try googling "mellanox price list").

Great move by Mellanox! I look forward to bringing their hardware into the lab and to us reviewing the docs together here on snabb-devel.

I will post a note when I know a timeline for the publication but meanwhile I wanted to share the news (with permission from Chris Shea at Mellanox).
