Greetings of day.. !
My name is Murthy TS.
I am from 1976-79 batch Electrical engineering.
I worked in Southern Railway for 16 years. During that time I did B. Tech from Anna University and M. Tech from IIT Madras. Then, resigned from Railway and joined IT industry and worked in IT companies including Satyam Computers Ltd.
I took retirement in July this year, and I live in Hyderabad near KPHB colony.

Currently working with Sri. DVP Ranga Raju 78 Electrical, Sri. Subrahamanyam Raju P 78 Mech and Md Zubair 07 Mech on Alumni strengthening in the process of giving back to our College, SMVM Polytechnic.
Nice to see many friends joining Groups and other social networking sites.
The general summarized on the activities done by us so far:
The following information is regarding SMVM Polytechnic Alumni Association and its proposed objectives:
Based on the discussions we had with many of our old students and with the current Principal, Sri Y Rajendra Babu, we have identified 2 objectives (On Priority):
1. Providing 6-month Industrial training with Stipend and Job Opportunities
2. Improving the Technical and Soft skills
As regards to the 1st point, we approached some of our Old students who have their Own Industries and they favourably responded for the same and we need to approach other old students who have industries and also who are in senior positions in the organizations and could provide similar opportunities.
As regards to the 2nd point, we need to collect the details of the old students who could impart training in the relevant areas. Sri. SRK Reddy garu, who was an old student and Ex. Faculty at our college, is willing to provide the same (as a visiting lecturer). We need to get more volunteers to provide training like once or more times in a year along with their area of interest. Also, we could identify the professionals who had provided similar trainings elsewhere and have passion to provide the same to the current and future students of our college at No/Little price besides us taking care of the conveyance, accommodation, etc.
The biggest advantage of our Alumni is strength as we have 17000+.
In order to make this happen, we need to reach out to maximum number of old students and rope them into this noble cause based on their availability and willingness. As all of us aware that financial support is one part of it but the time and effort contribution is more important to make it successful.
To streamline the communication, Zubair is working on this very actively working. He developed a website, created this group and many others.
Due to contribution from many of us, we could reach out good number of people and the process is still ON.
The SMVMP Alumni meet is proposed to be held in May 2018. The discussions with the Principal are still ON and would let you know the same very soon.
Further updates would be shared with you all from time to time.
In order to focus on the noble cause, we need to follow some guidelines and they are as under:
1. Please reach out to maximum and get the details of more old students and post it to us.
2. Please fill your details at the google website link: https://sites.google.com/site/smvmpolytechnicalumni
3. And, also request the other old students whom you know or might come across in future, to fill up their details in website (Link).
4. Please discuss and make it a point to invite the old students nearby for the family functions, if any, or arrange some get-together with nearby old students and post the details in the respective groups.
5. Identify the volunteers who had passion and requisite knowledge and let us know.

Note: This will get expanded once we get more active members.
We, some of the core team members, visited Bhimavaram, Tanuku and Vizag and many old students in and around these Towns/City on 3rd, 4th and 5th of Nov - 17 respectively.
It was very fruitful as we could meet good number of old students, explained the objectives in person, taken their inputs and identified a few areas to work further. Also, these meetings became networking points as some of them met each other for the first time and they are quite happy.
We will continue these kind of visits to towns/cities where our Polytechnic Old students are more. Will keep you informed in advance.
