Dear Smuthi Mailing List,
there is a new release of Smuthi: Version 2.2.4
It fixes the following bugs:
- Wrong T-matrix calculations for layered particles in
surrounding media with refractive index other than 1 (thanks
to Tanay Paul for reporting this issue and to Krzysztof
Czajkowski for fixing it).
- Wrong simulation results for particles in lossy backgrounds
(thanks to Christopher Gubbin for reporting this issue).
- The API section of the online documentation was broken and
is now fixed
The new release on PyPI includes a source distribution and
binary wheels for Python versions 3.8 to 3.10.
Unfortunately, the usage of f2py for the NFMDS extension
currently prohibits the installation of Smuthi with numpy
versions 2.0 or later. It also seems not possible to install
Smuthi with Python versions 3.11 or later.
Most people will have newer Python and/or Numpy versions. So
it may be necessary to create an extra Python environment in
which Smuthi works.
Best regards, Amos
