iPhone 11 not registering calls

Hi, My partners phone has started to not take calls and not notify her of missed calls. She has of course taken the scientific route of powering off and on, to no avail. 
I seem to remember seeing a post once about resetting the phone without destroying all the personal information. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I backup my iPhone to iCloud using my Apple ID, automatically, every day. If you don’t have a backup I suggest you need one.

Do an extra backup, wipe the iPhone and then you can do a restore from the backup.

Settings> (Your name, at top)> iCloud> iCloud Backup> move the toggle to on and select “Back Up Now”

I think the basic Apple ID iCloud account is free for the first 5GB of storage. If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me.

Several things.

  1. For some reason, I've seen stories where resetting network connections was enough for this kind of thing. It should be in the list of possible Erase options. You should try all the other options there (eg Reset settings) before wiping the phone.

  2. If you go ahead and erase the phone IF YOU HAVE ANY AUTHENTICATOR APPS or banking apps please make sure you disconnect those first. I lost access to gmail for literally years because I didn't do this and the only authenticator was wiped but they still thought it worked so kept sending me to it (nice loop there). This was only solved when a friend in tech had a word with another friend to look out for my attempt to get back into my account.

  3. If you have a computer available to do this, it keeps more data intact (I confess to being a bit vague about what, exactly) if you encrypt the backup via iTunes or Finder (depending on your OS). It's also much quicker moving the data via USB and you're correct about the 5 gig limit which is almost certainly not going to be enough.

Thanks for the response, I will get her to try the various resets and if all else fails a backup, reset to factory, then restore. Before that however we will contact the provider, Three, as I and a couple of people I know have had trouble with that network provider, so there may be a problem there.
As always its so great to be a member of this group and the support one gets.
