Good morning Smuggers

I’m setting up my wife’s new iPad Air.

She will be using it partly for reading and marking-up PDF reports.

I also have a first generation Apple Pencil.

Which app do people recommend for this task of using the pencil?

Many thanks,
Derek

I think I’ve read many good things about PDFPen from Smile Software: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pdfpen-5-pdf-editor/id924203665

Also, MacStories (whose assessments i rate) very much like is PDF Expert by Readdle who make the excellent Documents app: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pdf-expert-7-pdf-editor/id743974925

I don’t use either of the above so can’t comment from personal experience.

Regards,

Stephen

There are quite a few with different strengths. I would consider liquidtext if they are long documents, ZoomNotes if extensive commenting is required (you can set the page to infinite whiteboard), GoodNotes if not. But my default is always GoodReader for PDF’s. Some of those offer a lite version I think.

Thanks,

Not sure this is helpful, but I use PDF Expert for Mac (ie, not iPad version, nor pencil) and don't find it to be such an expert! It's a little clunky in editing - but might be fine for doing more pencil like markup.

The features on the Apple iPad app that are demonstrated in Notability app, always impress me and certainly works well when I've had a go in the Apple store!

Hope you find something suitable.

*sorry, I meant the features demonstrated on the iPad TV ad impress me.

I've got a fever. No single sentence sense making much.
