I need to replace my 2012 vintage 27 inch iMac and waited for WWDC to pass before weighing my options.

As a hobbyist photographer, I have got used to the large screen and would not want to go smaller, so I am looking at the new 27 inch studio display.

WRT what to pair it with, I was thinking about the latest Mac mini, but am now thinking about the new MacBook Air, as this would give me portability and I Assume I could also use it as a keyboard for the display, while using my existing magic mouse rather than the touch pad.
Any views?

I bought the 27 inch Mac with 3TB fusion drive, (Based on Sam’s recommendation.) and I love the storage space this gives me.

Whether I go Mac Mini or macBook Air, I am going to miss the 3TB storage, (Can’t afford to go 3TB flash) so I am wondering if anyone has a similar storage dilemma and how they have or would, resolve the issue? (4TB external hard drive perhaps?)

Steve.

It may be worth looking for a refurbished 2020. 27 iMac from Apple . I love mine and like you have been waiting for a new M1 model.

Hi Martin
Yes, that could be an option.
Steve.
