Hi everyone,
I have a feeling someone has asked this question in the past but I didn’t take much notice of replies because I didn’t have an iPhone.
However, I have a friend who has been given an iPhone (a present) but is not on 02. Rather than take out a contract with 02, is there any legal way of enabling her to use her existing sim card in the iPhone?
Many thanks, in anticipation…
John

no. But it's not illegal to jailbreak it, I don't think. It just
might cause problems.
It does depend though on what iPhone she has and what her existing sim
is capable of. For example the first gen iPhones won't be able to use a
3 sim and the new 3g iPhones won't accept non 3g capable sim cards.
She'll also need a decent data plan with her existing contract to take
full advantage of the iPhone.
HTH,
Mat
She will need to run QuickPWN to unlock the phone then it should be ok -

I'm curious about how you got to this point -- was it a
particular site? just wondering what to avoid...
this is why Safari now by default does not post-process (open)
files you download, btw. but Camino may still be set to do that.

System Prefs/Accounts/. Find the + at the bottom (you might need
to click on padlock first) and create an account -- look for
checkbox to 'allow user to administer this user'.
When you have an admin user account, I think it lets you uncheck
that box for YOUR account. Henceforth when you get a box to put
in your password you will have to use the admin user name not
your own, and the password for that account. But it's more secure.
I THINK this all applies to 10.3.9...

usually these are on by default with a built-in firewall, unless
you turned them off. there should be info on this one on the web
or that came with the router on setting the firewall...
| Thank you everyone for the detailed help! |
