What opinions do people have about Catalina? Today my iMac has told me that it wants me to update its OS. I am apprehensive about my Canon printer working on it and aware that Adobe, BBC iPlayer, some Bluetooth aspects and Kindle, for example, won't work. I've looked at the table of apps that are still not 64 bit and there certainly are a lot!

Yes, ensure your important apps will work under Catalina, for example I won’t update until I’ve had the all-clear from Adobe for running InDesign CC

Thanks Derek - I wonder if any of us responded to all those Apple promptings to contact software companies and I wonder if there were any helpful outcomes?

I’d avoid for the moment, there are some serious issues with reliability and data loss in Apple Mail under Catalina

Here’s one option to keep 32bit apps running in Catalina.

Most advice I’ve seen from those in the know about upgrading to Catalina is wait.

Bit late to this but I was away.

Catalina’s a bit of a “thing” among the pro audio community (almost exclusively Mac based) ‘cause countless really important apps (even Logic pro, an Apple app) and plugins are incompatible with it. Anybody regularly using audio apps will be staying with Mojave for quite some time I suspect.
