Hi all,

Is it just me, or are any of you who are subscribers to AM having your music removed and/or rearranged amongst multiple albums?

I certainly am and it’s driving me crazy. If it’s still going on come renewal time I will be pulling the plug, even if it means ripping all my CDs again. No idea what I’ll do with the vinyl though. 😡😤

Cheers,

Stephen

It’s not Apple Music (the subscription service) it is a change in how the iOS music app works. Now the album artist field is used to organise whereas before a different field was used. Drove me crazy so I had to manually fix hundreds of album artist entries in iTunes to sort It out.

All the best, Jason

Is it possible to edit Apple Music songs in your library?

It can’t be just that - entire albums that I had in my library have just disappeared - I’ve noticed five in the last few days!

To name just a few (showing my age here!):

Show some emotion - Joan Armatrading - gone!
T. Rex by T. Rex - gone!
Futuristic Dragon by T. Rex - gone!
Who’s Zoomin’ Who by Aretha Franklin - gone!

Black Holes & Revelations by Muse - has morphed into that album with only three of its tracks plus a new album with the same cover titled “Six Studio Albums” containing the remainder of the tracks! A similar thing has happened to bat out of Hell.

This is no way to run a business! I’ve got a long rant I’m going to send to Apple if I can just find an email address!

I've seen this many times over the years, especially when migrating, to the point that I have a folder which FolderSynchronizer sends every song to (without purging) at regular intervals. iTunes has never been a safe environment for music tracks, unfortunately. iTunes Match at least lets you reclaim most (but not all) of them when they vanish.

Good luck everyone and keep those CDs somewhere...

It's no wonder people move to Spotify.

I’ve got a support call booked with Apple tomorrow night on this. It’s driving me nuts and unless they sort it out I’ll be moving over to Spotify I think. They look to share some of these issues, but they have at least half the albums (or more) that have vanished from Apple Music!

I’ll report back.
