Hi Smuggers

Wonder if anybody else is getting this? The attached screenshot is of an email, that’s clearly spam/junk/scam, that for the last week or so I’ve been getting a few times a day. I mark it every time as junk of course, but somehow it’s getting through the mail app and iCloud junk filters. How’s it doing that? And is there anything I can do other than wait for it to stop?

Cheers
Phil

Very irritating for you.

If you can see the email address they're sending from (assuming it doesn't change each time) and assuming you're using Apple Mail macOS....

1. Open Apple Mail
2. Copy the email address of the offending email
3. Go to top left corner and click Mail / Settings...
4. Click 'Rules' icon on top row
5. Click 'Add Rule' button on right hand side
6. In 'Description' call it something like 'Send to Bin'
7. Then choose your parameters... perhaps:
If 'any' (select from drop down) of the following conditions are met:
Then from the dropdowns select
'From' 'contains' and then paste the offending email address (or type it in)

8. Under 'Perform following actions' select from the dropdowns

'Move message' to mailbox 'All bins'

9. Click ok.

Now, every time they email it should simply go straight to your Bin.

And the above reads rather more complicated than it will seem on screen and thus more convoluted than I intended!

Hope that helps,

Adam

The email address might be random each time, but you can create a rule to delete email based on reoccurring phrases in the subject line or body text instead.

Thanks Adam and Sam.

The emails come apparently from a different address each time so there’s no simple block I can apply.

I didn’t know about setting up a rule to identify recurring words/phrases Sam so I’ll try that. Thanks.

Cheers
Phil

Thanks so much Adam and Sam!

I have followed these instructions and suddenly I’m not getting nearly as many repeated junk mail. In fact - none at all today!!!!! Must check the bin …!!!

Thank you
