Some months ago, I asked for help with an irritating problem : using the writing program Scrivener, the highlight didn’t work when I copied and pasted. Eventually, after spending some time on the phone with Apple helpline, I sorted it out.
Now the same problem has recurred. I suspect this happens after an update. But I can’t remember how I solved it last time. I know it was a Apple problem not a Scrivener problem.
After I solved it last time, I wrote to Sussex Muggers telling you how I had solved it. Any chance that anybody can remember? At the time, Sam wrote in reply: “Ah yes….” But I can’t remember what he said. This is the worst part of being an octogenarian! Before
I go through the tedious business of contacting Apple, but I thought I would ask Smuggers just in case somebody remembers. Virginia

Have you  tried the "Search Conversations within smug     etc" option at the top of the page - it does come up with some suggestions?

Wow, cwo!  I had no idea that facility existed because I use my iPad for correspondence.  I’ve now looked at emails from and to Sussex Mug using my MBP.  and there I found the search facility and then the message I wanted telling me how to get the highlight back.  Many thanks.  BTW who are you?   Virginia

Using my iMac for SMUG emails, I don’t have “Search conversations within SMUG” at the top of my page. How can I get that?

It’s a symbol (squiggly line if I remember correctly)at top which says something like options. I’m not in front of MBP at the moment.

From my iPhone

Thanks Virginia. However, I don’t have anything like that on my page.

Next time I’m upstairs in front of MBP I’ll look again and let you know.

This depends what you are using to read your email, of course! Is this
in Mail? (Or maybe on the web?)

Cheers,

Jason

Apologies - I was not aware of people using other techniques - I being old used a web browser to look at the Google Groups that contained the forum or conversations.

Hi Gilly.  On MBP, I go to Safari -  Gmail - at top of page on right is a symbol of 3 horizontal lines with vertical breaks.  Difficult to describe a symbol but the main point is to access your email server through Safari and then this page will come up.
