Messages not syncing

Hi Smuggers. Why do messages not sync between my iPad Pro and my iPhone XR? Emails do but not messages. Any suggestions how to get them to communicate? Virgina

Look in iCloud settings on both devices and make sure that iCloud Messaging is enabled.

Also in Settings on the Phone, under Messages, enable Text Message Forwarding

Thanks, Sam. It wasn’t enabled on iCloud settings on iPad.  Hopefully that will sort it.
