Does anyone use Photobox any more? I have on iPhoto 115 photos of my nephew's wedding, which I want to upload to Photobox and invite family and friends to see them. Short of saving all 115 to my desktop, I can't work out how to get them onto Photobox's Uploading form. I have tried selecting them all and dragging them, but that doesn't work. Can anyone help by explaining how I can do it?

I use Photobox but I keep my photos outside the iPhoto library, which makes it fairly easy to upload them etc.

However it shouldn't be too hard even if you do import your photos into the iPhoto library - you just need to navigate to the Pictures directory in your home directory, then go into iPhoto Library, then drill down to the photos that you want to upload.

Best to stay out of the iPhoto library as you might end up uploading the unedited original images. There are no iPhoto plugins for Photobox so you'll have to export them to a folder then upload from there I think.

Thank you, Paul. I'll try that.

I'd be interested to know where you keep your photos if not in the iPhoto library.

Many thanks Sam!

What would you recommend as an alternative to Photobox?

I already had all my photos organised in folders long before I started using iPhoto. If you uncheck the "Copy Items to iPhoto Library" option in Preferences -> Advanced then iPhoto will happily work with originals that are stored/organised however you want them rather than copying them to the iPhoto library (it still puts modified versions and other data inside the iPhoto library, but your originals are not moved, copied or modified). I prefer it this way as it means I'm not tied to iPhoto.

Hi Gilly

There's always google picasa web albums, they're free and there's an iPhoto plugin available : http://picasa.google.com/mac_tools.html (or rather a google tool that can upload iPhoto albums to Picasa).
