I can second Bird Song ID - recently downloaded it and loving sitting in the garden and know which birds are all around. Blackbirds tend to dominate though!! I also recommend another 'new toy' - Picture This for identifying wild flowers (and garden flowers too) - recently learned 21 new wild flowers on a country walk!

Hello, just to say I remembered this thread when reading a review this morning, for Chirp! Review was positive but not tried it myself. Just wanted to pass it on.

He likes it very much except for one thing: there does not appear to be a good Apple app for identifying birdsong. On his old phone, Android, he had an excellent app which recorded and named birds accurately. The two Apple apps he has tried are nothing like as good. Have Smuggers any suggestions that would help him? Virginia
