ideas, iPhone 4s , Nokia 800 or Samsung SIII

HI All

My mobile contract runs out soon with 3 well actually this month and I'm replacing a Blackberry with one of the above devices, now i guess you all have iPhones but i'm open to a Windows phone or even a Samsung SIII. Anybody got experience of of the other phones ? and how do they compare to iPhone…

What do you all recommend and guessing that its the iPhone why? what are your reasonings if you don't mind me asking. Ive watched and read all the reviews but just can't seem to make my mind up.
Any suggestions hints or tips?

Hi Ray

Personally I'm holding out until Oct for the iPhone 5, which will most likely come out around the same time as iOS 6 (being previewed tomorrow it appears). It'll interface nicely with your Mac and use iCloud to back everything up/sync contacts/calendar etc.

The Windows phone I used seemed quite responsive, as was the Galaxy Tab, but they're not as easy to sync and back up. The tab felt like I was holding an iPad to my head it was so big.

Hi Ray

I'm extremely disappointed with my 4s. I've had it replaced three times so far. Call quality is abysmal as is its ability to see wifi connections. Went to Germany with a friend who has a Samsung and she connected to hotel wifi immediately and standing next to her the 4s couldn't even see the network. It frequently drops out at home even when I'm almost next to the router.

Samsung for me next time.

My wife has a Samsung and the wifi is definitely more capable. However, I've spent such a large amount of money on Apps that I'll most likely buy the iPhone 5.

How curious. 

My 4S has been extremely reliable, more so than the 3GS that preceded it. Call quality is better than my wife’s iPhone 4. And I don’t recall either dropping WiFi except in very weak signal conditions. We have become pretty enthusiastic about Three’s mobile broadband which was faster than our landline broadband, when both at home (not the case now since we had fibre broadband installed), as well as being more persistent than O2 our previous mobile network provider.

We do use a minimalist transparent phone case - protects both back and sides but leaves the face open - which may, or may not, help in signal strength and quality.

I don’t know about others but for the first time I’m actually looking forward to the next release of iOS - perhaps because I really like using Siri and it will be localised for the UK.

Latest Samsung SIII looks very interesting but as Adam commented the apps do make a difference in the iPhone’s favour, don’t they?

iPhone all the way. For stability, syncability, usability, app-ability etc... it's just a much better all round option. Sure, all have their strengths and weaknesses, but I would hold out for the next iPhone.

I'd be amazed if you regretted it.
