I upgraded my iPad Air and iPhone 5 to iOS 8 when it came out.  Now find that I cannot access my spreadsheets on iCloud and those already on iCloud have not been updated for at least a week (I suspect the date I installed the update).  Do I now have to wait for Yosemite for everything to work as it used to?  Why have I been cut off from iCloud for Numbers and I suspect Pages?  I have the Spreadsheet I use everyday on iCloud with an alias on my Mac Mini.  Should I just leave everything where they are until I change to Yosemite?

It all seems a bit pants just now:

I'm really looking forward to it but I avoided it when I upgraded to iOS8.

One and a half per cent of the UK population are millionaires, for the Cabinet the figure is 79 per cent. (September 2014)

What a mess.  iWorks and iCloud obviously do not work if you upgraded to iOS8 but do not have Yosemite.  I would love to have Yosemite so everything works again!!!   I am now back to one working copy on my Mac and no way of syncing to devices via iCloud as I used to.

Why have Apple released iOS8 with no date set for Yosemite when the two work together?  I have never been so disappointed with Apple.  I feel very sorry for those where lots of documents are involved.

Hi Diana

You could try downloading the Public Beta of Yosemite here https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ it’s been 99% fine for me so far. We’re on the 3rd version and it keeps getting better.

Hi,

Now I am going to show my ignorance.  What is the Public Beta version of Yosemite?  For a small user like me I guess waiting for Yosemite annoying but no more.

It’s the public preview copy where you can download Yosemite before it’s fully completed, test it and give feedback to Apple regarding any bugs you find. I’ve been using it since it was released, only had to give feedback around 5 times.

Diana,

I'm using Mavericks and iOS 8 and at least for Pages I can open docs created on a Mac and vice versa without problems. It also is working for realtime updating - seeing changes made on both as they take place.

I haven't invoked iCloud Drive as this doesn't work until Yosemite. This could be your problem?

Regards,

Tony

I am now sure it is my problem as I failed understand there was a difference between iCloud and iCloud Drive. At least now I know.
