Can anyone advise me? Today, for an unknown reason the iCal on my main computer is not showing the events stored on iCloud. It used to do this. I can still see the iCal events on my iPad. I have looked at Preferences and in all the obvious places and the correct boxes seem to be ticked to show iCloud Events.

Thanks, in hope

Try turning off calendars in iCloud and turning it back on again.

I turned Calendar seems now to be stuck on "updating" and a message saying "Moving Calendars to server account". Calendar preferences is greyed out. Should I wait or try to force quit it?

I’d give it about half an hour or so, then force quit it. You might need to remove (move to the desktop perhaps) the Home > Library > Calendars folder then turn calendars back on in iCloud preferences.

Didn't work Sam - hopefully I followed your instructions correctly. I now have a "Calendars" folder on my desktop and I ticked the Calendars box in the Cloud Preferences menu. It seemed to be doing something, but when I launched Calendar again the message box was still there saying that it was moving calendars to server account. In addition I got this message

NEW DEVELOPMENT!
I looked in my Finder and there was an enormous list of national holiday files - 6 Christmases, 7 Battles of the Boyne, Infinite Easter files.  Eek - What's happening?
