Good morning Smuggers

I recently upgraded my Mini iPad. I backed up my old iPad, via my MacBook Pro, to transfer the data to the new iPad.

Now I have the Back-up file on my MacBook desktop and I can’t delete it.

Suggestions on how to delete it would be gratefully received!

Best wishes,
Derek

What happens when you try? Should just be a case of putting the folder in the trash. Have you rebooted your Mac?

Hi Sam

I put it in the trash, emptied the trash, turned the computer off, when I turned it on again, the damn thing returned to the desk-top!

Hi Sam

When I untick Desktop & Documents everything on the desktop disappears, what is the method?

Very many thanks, as usual.

Derek

Ah don’t untick it no, just delete the folder and perhaps give it 10 mins to fully sync those changes with iCloud, otherwise iCloud might re-download that folder instead of deleting it from the server too

Hi Sam

I must be doing something wrong. I put the folder in the trash and emptied it. I left it for half an hour. I then shut down the computer, when I reopened it the folder reappeared!

(I didn’t do anything with the iCloud, should I have?)

Cheers,
Derek

That’s an odd one, perhaps iCloud Drive’s having an issue syncing. Try the Go menu > iCloud Drive > does it say anything at the bottom of the window about Syncing?

Hi Sam

I can’t see anything like that.
