Hi all

I'm helping an elderly neighbour migrate from her old iBook, to a shiny new MBAir. All going ok.

But she is now using Apple Mail and wants all her Entourage contacts transferred. I presume (don't have screen in front of me) that I can just export all Entourage contacts as vCards and copy into Apple Contacts? Is that right?

But, I think she's also referring to the directory that stores email addresses so that when you start typing in the 'To:' box, it offers suggestions.

Can I also import that to Mail somehow?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Adam

Recently Used address will require the migration of all the old email, but you can get the Contacts as follows:

1. Create a new folder on the Desktop, name it appropriately.

2. On the old iBook, fire up Entourage and go to Contacts.

3. cmd-A to Select All.

4. Click and hold on the selected items and drag to the new folder you've created. Its a bit of a stop-start operation so be patient - as you start dragging the contacts from Entourage, wait and let the system catch up. Once you've got the 'ghost' of what you're dragging, hover it over the icon of the new folder and wait for the system to catch up, then let go of the click.

5. Move the folder to the new Mac then open it, Start Contacts then select all from the folder and drag them to the Contacts window.

If you want to transfer all her old mail, I'd recommend eMailAlchemy then at least all the recently used email addresses will be available even if they're not in her Contacts.

Many thanks!

I'll do the obvious bit... and if she still requires a more complete migration, give that link a go!

Thanks again!
