Hi lovely SMUGgers,

I’m seeking a little advice.

I currently have an iMac M1 and iPad Pro 11” M4 with Magic Keyboard and that’s it. I’m considering whether it would make sense to sell the iMac and buy an M4 Mac mini plus monitor for use with the Mac and also iPad (Leaving out keyboard & trackpad for now). My iPad has been my main computer for years now and I’m thinking that (especially with iPadOS 26) it may well raise the whole experience by having an external monitor too.

The iMac has an excellent Retina 27” display, but quite honestly I’d be fine with a much smaller display but I’m looking for Retina quality. I’ve seen a number of YouTube videos and browsed around but despite all that I’ve not actually *seen* any with my own eyes to know if they are OK or not. I’m looking for a maximum price of around £400 I suppose ...

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions and also perhaps know a good place to actually see a range of monitors into which I could plug my iPad to give it a ’test drive’ - Tottenham Court Road?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,
Stephen
