Ping volume

Good morning Smuggers

I’ve got an online conference all week and to hear it I have to turn the iMac volume up, this means I keep getting loud pings when emails arrive.

This is very irritating, is there a way of reduce the ping volume only, if not how do I turn it off?

If you are using Apple Mail you can turn off (or change) the message alert sound in the General tab of preferences.

And if you don't require those notifications during the call, you can turn on Do Not Disturb for the duration.

Top right of the menu bar, two 'toggle switches (usually to the left of the date and time.)

Then click Do Not Disturb and select for how long.

I saw - good! I suffer from other people's pings (mainly in Teams
meetings). When the chat for the meeting is busy and the speaker has the
noises going off on their machine, it can get surreal, so I
sympathise...
