Anyone available some usability testing?

I need a handful of experienced online mac shoppers to undertake an informal session on a clients website. It would take under an hour and I come to you, either at home or an internet cafe. We will run through some tasks on a website and see what you think. For taking part I can offer you £40 vouchers for a local Apple shop. I am looking for people based in Brighton and available during normal working hours in the next couple of weeks. If you're interested or would like some more information email me at tim_...@mac.com. Cheers,

Is that people experienced at buying Mac's online or using Macs to buy
stuff online?

I just bought a new camera (Nikon P6000) and want a good photo editing
software which will not cost the earth.
Has anyone any recommendations or comments about Aperture 2

Thanks

You can try Aperture for free for 30 days. Go for it; I don't think
you'll be disappointed.

I've been using Aperture for a long time now and hate using anything
else (I used to use the Nikon software on both Mac and PC - Aperture
is better)

There are some great plugins coming along that make it a joy to use
and the ability to post galleries straight to a mobile me account is
perfect.

Regards

Aperture is great value for what you get, I use it exclusively for my photography because it supports dual displays, which Lightroom does not.

Thats great, thanks.
I just downloaded a trial version and have played with a couple of the plugins which look good. However I must sit down and spend a bit more time with it, but at first glance it looks like the tool for the job. There are lots of plugins for all the functions one could want, it seems.
I also found a Raw image converter/processor from Iridient Digital which I hope will handle files from my camera.

I tried both the trials for lightroom and apperture when they first came out.  They both had very similar features, but I plumped for Lightroom in the end, becuase I found I could work through a series of photos quicker with that program than with apperture.  I still use iPhoto to catalog everything, but i export TIFs in lightroom to take to the printers, and I backup the original NEF files to dvd to archive them.  Apperture wants to be your one stop shop, and I think Lightroom is more flexible to different workflows.  This was using the first versions of each software and I haven't upgraded yet.

I took delivery of Aperture 2.1.1 this week. Very pleased. Being in education, I bought it from the Apple store and it only cost £47 + VAT! A real bargain, I think. If you’ve got kids, buy it for them…

I’ve not used Lightroom so I am not in a position to compare them but don’t think you could beat the value for money at that price.

John
