LaTeX Math in ReST

This is mostly a question for Jeff, but I thought I'd post it here for
others to see. Anyway, Jeff, I know that you're more familiar with
docutils than any of the rest of us are. I'm still interested in doing
math in Smug, and I've always thought that jsmath would be the best
cross-platform way to do this until MathML gets widespread support. I
found a page on adding a jsmath directive to ReST, and I was wondering
if you had an opinion on it. Here's a link:

Do you know if it would be possible to get something like this into
Docutils? Automatic conversion to MathML would be nice, too, but it
seems like jsmath would be a great starting point. It would be nice to
have this work out of the box. What do you think?

By the way, the link at the bottom of the blog posting led me to find
information about using jsmath with Sphinx (which apparently is based on
Docutils):
