Dear Colleagues,
It is with extreme pleasure that I make the announcement of KEO’s intent of opening by end of this month, a fully fledged office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This exciting news for KEO, is a major milestone in its reach as a Global provider of consultancy services.
Two days ago, KEO was selected to be the Project Delivery Partners for one of the largest projects to be undertaken in South East Asia, the Kuala Lumpur International Financial District (KLIFD). http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-10-08/state-funds-to-build-kuala-lumpur-financial-district.html The link will lead you to an article written in Business Week that describes the project, as being a $8.4 Billion development on 34 Hectares of land in downtown Kuala Lumpur, right near the Petronas Towers. KEO’s role will provide Total One-Stop Services that will include Program Management, PM/CM full services, Infrastructure Engineering, Architectural and Building Design Services, Landscape Architecture and Sustainability Consultancy Services.
I am also pleased to inform you all that I signed in Kuala Lumpur a Letter of Award on 11th January 2011 for the KLIFD project. The official kick off meeting happened yesterday and the official start date for services will be January 17th 2011. This represents one of the largest multi-divisional contracts in the history of KEO.
The award came as a direct result of this client’s appreciation of KEO’s vast experience as a quality oriented consultancy firm. It also came as a direct result of tremendous efforts of all the Divisional leaders in KEO. I particularly want to compliment and thank in particular Robert Milford and members of PMI who put together the winning presentations, Ephraim Cooper, Malcom Hamilton and John Georgopoulos who were deeply assisted by Ralph Henderson, Clive De Villiers and Brad Batcheller. I also want to thank Andrew Tiffin and his team and Youssef Khalifeh and his team for assisting in the development of our final proposal that have lead to this award.
The KLFID project lead consultant will be Project Management International (PMI) who will coordinate all services from every division throughout the life of the project. PMI’s Executive Project Director for KLIFD I am pleased to announce is John Georgopoulos. He will be arriving into Kuala Lumpur to start the project on 17th January 2011.
PMI and John will need all the cooperation possible to successful launch KEO-KL and the start up of KLIFD project. Alyssa Sultan and her facilities team will be arriving into KL next week to assist PMI and John to manage the logistics of physically setting up KEO’s offices. They will be deeply reaching into IT and Finance for support to achieve target of getting it opened and running as soon as possible.
This truly is a historic development for KEO, the expansion into Malaysia will mean an office that will be as large as our Dubai HQ if not larger. I believe that the KL office can and will be our platform to the entire Southeast Asia Market. There will no doubt also be great opportunities for career opportunities in KEO-KL.
But first we must exceed all expectations in the delivery of KLIFD. I am asking each of you to do your part to make the KLIFD opportunity one of the greatest success stories in KEO.
Please join me in congratulating first PMI as lead Consultant and John Georgopoulos as the new Executive Project Director for KLIFD, and secondly to congratulate the Divisions that also will play leading roles in the delivery of KLIFD; KEO-Infrastructure, KEO-CQS, KEO-Design, KEO-SPU.
Congratulations KEO!!!
Kind Regards,
Donna Sultan
