When using Chrome-to-phone ( https://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/
) sending links from my browser to my phone works instantaneously.
Proof that C2DM works fine. However when using smshare sending a sms
from my browser to my phone only works if I, after pressing send in my
browser, open the smshare app on my phone.

Is that normal? I expected that sending sms from my browser would work
without me taking any additional action on my phone.

Hi Guido,

Did you choose the automatic mode from the smshare preference menu on
your smartphone (refresh mode settings)?

If you have already chosen the automatic and it is still not working,
you may need to invalidate your C2DM registration then revalidate
again. To do that, you need to disconnect from smshare on your
smartphone and login again. Then go to :

smshare -> preferences -> refresh mode -> automatic mode -> choose
your native account -> tap on validate.

You should be ok then.

Awainting your feedback.

Yes, I did and I have validated it multiple times.

Didn't exactly know how to 'disconnect from smshare'. According to:

https://code.google.com/android/c2dm/#user

" Uninstalling the application also has the effect of
unregistering."

So that's what I did. I uninstalled smshare and then reinstalled it
again.

After reinstalling the application again on my phone I validated my
account again. Alas no change. The sms' are only send after starting
or switching to the smshare app.

When I start or switch to smshare I see the line 'status: <something>
' changing from something I could read (it changed to fast) to
'status: registered'. Not sure if that's significant.

Dear Guido,

We found that the problem happens when encoding your credentials and
we should give it a fix quickly.

Because your login doesn't seem to contain special characters, I think
the problem comes from your password.

Can you please change your password to use characters from A-Z and a-z
and/or numbers only. To change password go to your dashboard at :
http://smshare.fr/account/passwd.html

Then, on your smartphone, go to smshare -> preferences -> refresh mode
-> automatic mode -> choose > your native account -> tape on validate.
and read carefully the message displayed.

Awaiting your feedback.

Best regards,

My password indeed contained special characters. It was generated by
1Password (https://agilebits.com/products/1password)

Done. (20 characters, only A-Z, a-z and numbers)

Great successfully connected
Now, go to Google Chrome and send sms

Works beautifully now.

BTW is the password sent encrypted by the smshare app?

It should be sent encrypted but not yet done. I was talking about URI-
encoding.

Thanks for your patience.
