Hello,

Firstly, what a fantastic app you've written. Very impressed, love it!

I'd love it even more if I can get the desktop notifications working.
I've set up my Chrome to allow notifications, but when I receive an
SMS, nothing happens.
Can you help me troubleshoot?

Also, is there a way to guarantee that I'm always logged in?
This is what happens, I click on the Chrome extension icon, and it
says that I'm signed in, I type the SMS and press send, everything
looks ok, but I dont get the notification on the phone that the
message was sent. I have to click "sign out" on the Chrome extension,
and sign back in again before I can send successfully. Is this
something that can be fixed?

Thanks again

Hi and welcome to smshare :)

1- There was a bug with our notifications system and we just fixed it
now in the 2.1.1 version of smshare Chrome extension. Could you
confirm please?

2- The problem may come from the phone rather than the Chrome
extension.

Basically, When you submit your sms from chrome, your phone should get
it either by AC2DM (+ Android 2.2) or by frequency polling mode.

I believe that is a pure coincidence that your sms was sent when you
signed out from the extension.

Cheers

Hi Moises,

We're working on it and should be released within the next week.

Keep in touch

Hi,

Make sure that Handcent sms doesn't swallow incoming sms event.

Have a look at our blog post that talk about desktop notifications:

I was dreading you sending me there...

I've had a look at that and couldn't work out if it was swallowing
them or not. it's settings are very different from Go SMS Pro.

Plus I have Avast - though I experimented with the Network Shield switched off.

Do you have any suggestions regarding Handcent or shall I try uninstalling it?

Indeed, I can't find some thing that looks like "disable other message
notification" in handcent sms as in Go SMS.

Can you uninstall Handcent sms and try again.

Thanks,

And lo and behold there they are!! Desktop Notifications are working.

Damn, so what can I do about Handcent?

I'll try and contact them ... but can you help me with what question I
should ask?

Again, thank you so much for your help.
