Hi,

I tried out Eclipse on Linux (64-bit). The configuration process is
quite long but in the end it works well.
There was an issue with the preverification in EclipseME and Ganymede
which was solved after some searching (known bug, use testing version
of EclipseME).

I managed to compile and create an obfuscated package. However,
neither WTK, nor my phone were able to run. The error was an exception
on the instantiation of the applet. It looks like another
configuration issue, which I'll look into this in the following days.

Thanks for your effort.

I use windows, so I'll be glad to hear things can be done one linux.

Are the issues particularly to do with your machine being 64-bit?

One issue is the fact that there is no 64-bit version of the WTK
emulator. This requires to have an additional 32-bit JDK for the
purposes of the 32-bit emulator. It also requires some extra
configuration steps.

Apart from that I did not notice other issues.

In general, if a toolchain or other software works in 64-bit as well,
this is an extra degree of confidence that it works.
