I am having a great time configuring a scanner scale NCR 7875. I have
just about run out of patients with it. I got the scanner working. I
can't get the weight to show up. I have done a few scanner scale
installs in the past. I had never had this problem before. Any
suggestions? Thanks Guys.

Thanks for the reply. I will hold on to that for future reference. I
am still having a problem with this scanner scale. The weight won't
show on the screen. Plus if you scan an item it will work on the first
pass. After the first pass the item wont scan any more. I noticed that
the buffer is showing a "q" after the first pass. Would that have
anything to do with it. Could it be firm ware? Is there any way to
diagnose this scanner scale. Thanks again.

Sounds like you may have a communications issue.  NCR Scanners will stop scanning when a communications fault occurs.  Make sure to start by setting the "Default" tag prior to going into program mode and programming the required codes.

Default, Save And Reset (Cycle power on scanner recommended also)

Programming Mode, 2, 1, 0, 0, 3, Save And Reset

This should set the following on the scale/scanner:

·         Communications: 9600 baud, 7 bit, odd parity, 1 stop bit

·         RS-232 Parameters-2

·         Disable BCC

·         ACK/NAK Control

·         Check Digit Control

Additionally you can set tags 2,4,and 9 to enable tone on scale read

Double check all of your parameters in the setup.ini to match.

As far as the weight monitoring goes the “Monitor” setting should be 14<3>  You may have to play with the multiplier and the number of digits read in the “Request” settings to get it working 100%  Play around with it, you’ll see things change as you do and the settings will make more sense.

You might also find the following doc helpful:  SMS Scale Monitor.pdf (attached)

Send me a screenshot of the issue if it persists – GOOD LUCK!
