Hi,

 

Xavier Estivill just agreed to join the cafe halfway through June. My Spanish is not really sufficient to come up with a catchy title in Spanish. I used this to describe the topic to Xavier:

Our idea is to explain to the public (not more than 80 people) how doctors can use a knowledge of a persons genome sequence to improve both prevention and treatment of disease. In other words, how can genome variations be traced to disease risk, and how can variations influence the treatment you will receive. Especially, also in the light of currently appearing commercially offered testing for genetic variants, we would like to show what has been demonstrated to be possible, and what not yet. 

So a first attempt at a title:

"From DNA to better healthcare: promises and fallacies"

"ADN para mejorar la asistencia sanitaria: la promesa y la falacia" (I need input from a native, I do no doubt this is horrible)

Anyway, I thought DNA would be more known and appealing than genome, though I might be wrong. Maybe a subtitle could mention "personal genomes"? 

Tonight I dread I cant make it again, unfortunately. I'll be in touch shortly to quickly sort out technicalities.
