Srikanth Davuluri ,

Good morning.   Thanks for drafting and sending the email to IIM-C. It is remarkably-well written.  Hope to get a positive response  from them.  But that is just a hope. 

1. We should  be ready to take this for a protracted discussion. IIM-C's  initial reaction could likely be a NO with a set of reasons, that will appear to be convincing and logical from their point of view. We need to reply to that and take it ahead  in a deliberate manner.

 

2. Also we should include in the CC ,  at least all the SMP09 students who voted  YES for this change. I see that only 42  students are in  the CC ...    if I counted right.  That is okay for now. In the future , let us add more SMP09  guys in the CC. It helps build credibility , I  would say.

Again thanks for initiating this. Great step forward.

We strongly believe that a more widely accepted name would in turn build a better brand image for this program and provide better business opportunities for the students.

 

The following are the suggested names from entire students of SMP09 that we sincerely request you to consider

·         Post Graduate Program in Management for Senior Executives(PGPM-SE)

·         Post Graduate Program for Senior Management(PGPM-SE)

·         Executive Business Management Program for Senior Managers(EBMP-SM)

The first reaction of IIM-C has been "they're are not  interested in responding or considering this request". However one more attempt (from us)  is required. We need to send the same letter once again to prof BBC,  SS,  Ramanuj and Sudip C.  Then follow up. We have  sent  1 or 2 emails, which they have ignored. One of us needs to send  a few more emails to get a response from them.

Since I have already initiated one email request with Dean and Ramanuj, can you or anyone else from the group send a separate email request as you have suggested. This is to show that request letter is coming from multiple centers and will have more impact

Writing to one person (such as Prof Ramanj) is not productive in my view.  The person would respond saying he is not  singularly responsible and   this is beyond his/her scope.   My humble suggestion  is that we  write to all the  3 coordinators (Prof  BBC , Sarkar and Ramanuj) and also CC to the LDP office-bearer   email IDs.  Also  request them to respond within a few days on what could  be the way  forward.
