Hi,
I am trying to connect to my Smoothieboard using bCNC. However when I choose the Smoothie option in the controller drop down it won't connect.
Strangely, it connects when I choose Grbl-V0. Using this, I am able to send gcode to the Smoothie, however I believe that the gcode in grbl is slightly different to the way Smoothie interprets gcode, which becomes apparent when I send gcode generated in Fusion 360.
I have installed bCNC on a different computer and I am able to connect using the Smoothie option on bCNC, this tells me the firmware on the board itself is OK. So I am guessing there is something wrong with either the bCNC software on this particular laptop or some other settings on the Laptop I am missing.
One difference I noticed between PC's is in the Device Manager, com port settings. On the PC the Smoothie connects correctly to, the name of the USB device is "Smoothieboard USB Serial (COM 3) ", however on this laptop the name is "USB Serial Device (COM 4)" i'm not sure if this has much impact on anything?
I have added some images below, could anyone help with this? I can't seem to figure out why it works on one PC and not the other.
Thanks,
Aidan.
