Hi,
I am having trouble setting up smoothie. I'm new to smoothie and replacing gshield in my laser to smoothieboard.

I'm using 24 V smps and and usb to power the board.. I did exactly as it says in the documentation

1. installed driver from the sd card I got with smoothie.
2. connected 24 v supply, VBB led is glowing
3. connected the motor, To ensure it's end connection  I run it with printrboard and repertier host befor connecting with smoothie.
4. calculated the steps per mm. mine is 80 , same as in the default config file
5, don't know the exact rated current of motor, waiting for sellers reply, now working with the default value of 1.5 A
6. installed pronterface and connected with it at a baud rate of 115200

got the reply "Printer is now online" from pronterface

for testing only connected x axis(M1) motor but when I tried to move it, it failed
connected the motor in Y axis (M2) too but same results

I downloaded new config file and reflashed new firmware, but no use.

I brought two smoothie boards. Today I tried with the second board and this time I haven't changed anything in the configuration file but the result was same as previous board and I also changed the power supply, this time with a 12 V, not luck there too.
I'm using the same type of supply as  shown in the documentation.

No idea what to do now, either I'm doing something wrong or I for got to do something , that's why I mentioned all the steps I've done so far or both my boards have some manufacturing defect, that's very unlikely.

I tried to contact help via IRC channel  http://smoothieware.org/irc , but it wasn't much helpful

Need help, please

You're going to have to be a little more specific than "it failed" - what exactly happened?

Sorry problem was on my side
The usb cable I was using was faulty for some reason it isn't allowing serial communication

Anyway now I changed the cable and it's working fine
