How to derive the EDI DFDL schema from the official UN/EDIFACT message definition zip directories

Hi,

I need help determining how we can derive the EDI DFDL schema from official UN/EDIFACT message definition zip directories. For example,  If the latest  official UN/EDIFACT directory version is 22, which is not present in the Maven repo, how can we derive the schema from it?

Hi Akash, the instructions for generating DFDL schemas from unsupported EDIFACT directories can be found in issue 172. You might want to follow Ulrich's PR for an example.

Hi Claude,

Thanks for the quick response. I have followed the steps shared by you and tested it locally, and it's working fine. However, currently I don't have any requirements to use those schemas. So, If in the future I have the requirement to add the latest EDIFACT schemas that are not already added, will you be able to review the PR and merge it even after the RC2 release, or if Smooks is no longer under active development?

Yes definitely. Anyone of the core committers can merge your PR. At the moment, we're having umbrella releases for the RCs but, in the future, the cartridges will released individually so the release cadence will be much faster.
