Hi, I am looking for a starting point on converting a 837D Claims (in a batch) to the X12 Standard.  We have based the claims in the batch off the official 5010 XML Schema (837-D).

I would think there would be a way to convert that XML File or Java Object to the x12 standard.

As well, is it possible to do this conversion with Milyn Smooks EDI Generation library only or would I need the whole Smooks Frameworks

Thank you

I think you'd need to write the edi mapping files for the x12 message and generate the Java model for that via EJC. Then use smooks to bind the XML into that Java model. Full picture then would be .... 837D --> Java --> X12
