Is it possible to get the specific error of an EDI that produces BadMessage in an unmarshall procedure?

This is for EDIFACT schemas? The BadMessage element was inherited from the original IBM EDIFACT schemas. It's there as a fallback so that Smooks doesn't simply bubble up the error and fail. The disadvantage is that the error leading to BadMessage is lost. So far, the guidance has been to route the BadMessage to a 3rd party EDIFACT validation tool which admittedly might not be practical.

We might need to revive the discussion in https://groups.google.com/g/smooks-dev/c/1J4s0Gq8vUo. When are you getting a BadMessage? This should only happen when a required segment is missing.
