i just bought a deskjet 1510 (1513) all-in-one printer and was under the impression that i could connect it wirelessly to my network -- can anyone tell me if this is possible with this model and what is the best way of going about installing my printer to print wirelessly -- thank you
You say when HP sent you the new printer, was this a replacement printer? if it was a replacement, it is normal that you would not have received a cord. If it was a new printer you purchased, you should have got a power cable with it and I suggest calling HP to let them know. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
I just bought this printer through Amazon and it was advertised as wireless. Really disappointed. Spent two hours trying to configure settings and watch tutorials. As of yet it still has not printed a single document when plugged into my pc...
I have a MS Word file with a text page header and images shrunk down to stay within the page margins. The images were taken from 'PrtSc' screenshots and pasted onto the page. The page header text prints just fine within the selected page borders but the software is enlarging the screenshots and chopping off the RH edge.
If your HP Deskjet 1513 is automatically enlarging and cropping images without warning or your desired settings, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
If the issue persists after trying the above steps, you may want to contact HP customer support for further assistance. They can provide guidance and may suggest additional troubleshooting steps or a possible solution.
I tried to fool this image-enlarger-gremlin by reducing the image size and adding text to the righthand edge of the image. I had noticed that other MS Word documents (text only) printed just fine, in the exact form I had asked for. Text that was RH justified came out correctly aligned with the RH margin in these other documents. But back on my problem document, the un-commanded expanded image still spilled off (unprinted in the RH margin space) and also took the RH text with it, right off the page. I believe this printer has a demon.

The HP Deskjet 1513 all-in-one inkjet printer's main attraction is its low price, but it doesn't sacrifice too much in capabilities or features to achieve it. With speeds of up to 20 pages per minute for black and 15 pages per minute for color, it is relatively fast, and high-capacity HP 1513 printer ink supplies offer a good cost per page for its class.
One of the more obvious features lacking from the 1513 is an automatic document feeder, which does mean manual feeding for scans and copies. The flatbed scanning lid is removable, however, which can be very convenient for larger media like books. The control panel is also a bit lacking, with no screen for previewing photos, and only a set of buttons for controlling common functions, and an LED light to alert users when Deskjet 1513 printer ink is low. As a result, users should expect to spend some time in the software for many tasks.
The input paper tray holds up to 100 sheets, which is just enough to be passable, but might be a bit small for those who do a lot of printing. The unit can accept media sizes up to 8.5x14 inches, and a variety of media such as envelopes, cards, labels, photo paper, and transparencies.
Prices for OEM HP 1513 ink cartridges can be a little high, and reviewers disliked the need to manually swap out the black Deskjet 1513 ink cartridge for a separate photo color supply. Using remanufactured HP 1513 ink is a good way to cut expenses, as they are more affordable than their OEM counterparts.
For buyers who don't mind the lack of a faxing feature or an automatic document feeder should find the Deskjet 1513 inkjet printer to be a good value. Lack of a preview screen and a few other conveniences means it won't be the best choice for photo printing, however.
