This was my reply when first tasting Robert's "secret" rub:
"WOW, just had a taste on the end of my finger, interesting first
response, not sure what you have in there...........this was followed
with a sweet flavor..........and then POW, some heat that I still feel
while typing this first review!! :-D "
I have not had a chance to actually cook with it, but I can tell already
it is going to be great. Just trying to decide what to cook, chicken
would be the easiest, but I'm really thinking pork. The funny think is I
can't compare it to anything I have tried in the past, getting some of
this rub to try was in response to trying to find a reasonable way to
buy Bill's BH rub in larger volume. Right now that is on the back
burner, so I am just hoping Robert will sell me some "at a reasonable
price Robert!" :-)
All kidding aside, this is a rub to buy/try. Funny, I remember years ago
when Bill got fired from his job at Square D and decided to start
selling his sauce, etc.....the rest is history. Maybe I am witnessing
another small business get it's start...........you really need to try
this rub and no I am not related or getting paid, but..................
Now that I am on a roll, I will mention to anyone who is interested that
I have bought and then bought some more honey from Jim M on this list. I
have kept the big jars for my self and given the "Honey Bears" to
friends for gifts at Christmas. It is the BEST honey I have ever had and
everyone who has tried it has said the same. He is the bee keeper and I
don't know what those bees are feasting on in his part of the country,
but it is a whole lot better than what i have been buying locally.

I thought about selling it a few years ago but when I dropped the catering my heart wasn't in it. Might be a fun side business but there are so many rubs on the market I'm not sure.
What size container do you guys think is a good general size? 12 oz? I would be glad to sell some to you guys here to try but feel weird peddling stuff on the list.
And honey? Where did I miss that? Who is doing that?

I will have to check with him, he is a long time member of the list, but
stays out of the fray....................Even with shipping I have found
his honey to be less than what stores are charging, but frankly that
would not make any difference because of the quality. At the moment
buying the bears seems to be the best choice because of the chance of
breakage with quarts. But with all items with shipping charges you need
to buy enough to make the shipping reasonable.

John
Forgot you knew each other, isn't that the best honey you have ever had?

Ok so how did I miss robt's rub recipe? Â Is there a date it was posted that I might retrieve it?
Best,
John
So tell you what the first 10 people that email me off list with their address I'll send a free sample. All I ask is for some feedback. Does it suck? Is it good? Do you bow to it every day? etc.
Robert
Here is the whole story:
http://www.foodsafetynews.com/2011/11/tests-show-most-store-honey-isnt-honey/
"Eventually, some honey packers became worried about what they were pumping into the plastic bears and jars they were
selling. They began using in-house or private labs to test for honey diluted with inexpensive high fructose corn syrup
or 13 other illegal sweeteners or for the presence of illegal antibiotics. But even the most sophisticated of these
tests would not pinpoint the geographic source of the honey.
Food scientists and honey specialists say pollen is the only foolproof fingerprint to a honey's source."
So, support your local honey grower!

John

Best,

If you can get locally produced honey, buy it, regardless of cost. Most American honey isn't even American, and most of
it is ultra filtered to remove pollen, which also removes all ability to track its source. Some foreign honey producers
add high fructose corn syrup to their ultrafiltered honey, and it isn't even on the label - because it is untested, and
not required by the FDA. High fructose corn syrup is processed by the liver, and too much of it can lead to cirrhosis of
the liver - even in non-drinkers.
Now if you do not care about cost there is some honey in Florida that is
VERY expensive, but now I can't remember why...........there is
something about it that no other honey can claim.
Best,
John
