I thought I had more pictures. There was one of me drawing off his first Mustard Sauce-can’t find it. This is September 9, 2011.

I've never seen a picture of Bill Arnold before. I just remember him showing up here one day saying that he'd lost his job but had a sauce recipe that might support him and his two girls. The mustard sauce is my wife's goto since she can't eat tomato.  We have quite the stash in the basement.

This is all so fun!  Hi everyone!  So many names I haven’t heard/read in a long time!  Hi!  I’m getting ready to do pastrami and corned beef very soon. My brisket and bacon turned out awesomely!  Very happy in SoCal.

Funny, his Blues Hog is on the shelf at our local Harris Teeter store. Wonder who's making it now.

Yeah, a couple of years ago my son-in-law gifted me with a couple of bottles of "new" sauces he discovered, Blues Hog. I told him Bill's story and showed him some old bottles that Bill, himself, had made and gave him a jar of his dry rub.

I remember when his company got too big for him to fulfill the orders and he sold it to a corporation but I don't know which one. The corporation made an unwelcome change when it changed from using real sugar the HFCS.

BTW - does anyone know if the current Blues Hog competition team is descended from Bill's old team or are they just using the same name?

I can get a large selection of Blues Hog products (sauce, rubs, charcoal) at local Ace and Walmart.

Bill sent me a few jars over the years because he knew they were unavailable here in Canada and I was a fellow veteran. Last year I walked into my local Home Hardware store, a national chain here in Canada, and lo and behold, there was a whole shelf full of Blues Hog products!! The manager asked if I’d like to try some of this new product and was shocked when. I told him that I’d been using it for years and actually had known Bill personally. Good stuff!
