Dear listener,
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Exclusive Investigation:
And while the festivities are amongst us, we're still working hard in the SmithtownRadio.com newsroom this December. We are the only news outlet - big or small, broadcast or print - following the day-by-day developments in the Machete Bandits case. A group of hispanic males has robbed a number of area gas stations armed with a machete and handgun. And when police released an incident about a robbery in Central Islip Monday, we were the only newsroom asking the hard questions. And now it looks like the Machete Bandits may be responsible for that incident as well. In that case, the suspects forced another driver off the road before striking him with the machete and robbing him. This was the first violent attack by the bandits, who have robbed gas stations in St. James and Smithown since late October. You can follow the play-by-play reporting on SmithtownRadio.com.

Holiday Extravaganza:
On a more positive note, we're just days away from SmithtownRadio.com's Holiday Extravaganza presented by the Smithtown High School East chapter of SADD. We'll start playing wall-to-wall commercial free holiday music starting Sunday! With that being said, we have a few scheduling changes to tell you about:

  • Starting Sunday and until the end of 2010, "Mamie & David in the Morning" will be extended until noon. You'll be able to catch them Mon-Sat from 7am until Noon and Sunday's from 7am-9am. As much as we love Tim Pounds and the "Revolution 9: Beatles Hour," the fab-four has requested the holiday season off.
  • We're welcoming Caroline Marchildon to mid-days from Noon until 3pm. Andrew Natoli stays on 3pm until 6pm. And I'll see you 6pm-Midnight.
  • TechNight with Jamie Diamond remains in it's live time slot Sunday at midnight (that's as Saturday turns into Sunday) but we're changing the times of its re-air. We're adding a Sunday morning re-air at 9am and moving the Sunday evening re-air from 7pm to 9pm. The Halftime News Report will air 10 am and 10pm Sundays as well. We hope you will find this an entertaining and informative talk block.
  • And the new "Saturday Night Dance Party with Sean Polite" has been a big hit. Sean will continue to host his show Saturday nights from 6pm through 10pm leading up to "Ten@Ten."
  • All the changes will be reflected on SmithtownRadio.com/schedule come Sunday.

And this wouldn't be a real promotion e-mail unless I welcomed you to check out SmithtownRadio.com/holiday for all your holiday needs. The site includes local fire department holiday parade routes and times (including details on our live broadcast from within the Nesconset Fire Department parade on Sat. the 18th). As well, you can check out our Holiday Hotline. Call 631-406-5291 and leave your name and a holiday message for a friend, family member or co-worker. Complete details on our Web site.

Until next time - have a great holiday season,
