It’s seems like just yesterday but on January 1st, 2011, SmithtownRadio.com marked it’s fifth straight year on the air.
When we signed on in 2006, we were the radio station of Smithtown High School East’s radio club. We’ve come a long way since then.
Personally, I’m not sure I ever foresaw us hitting the big zero-five. And we could not have done it without you!
As we head into 2011, we’re continuing to make improvements to our site and on-air programming to better serve you.
For starters, I’m sure you’ve already noticed the modified Web site courtesy of our Webmaster Andrew Natoli. Take a look around and let us know what you think.
Additionally, we’re making changes to our on-air schedule. Be sure to listen forty-five minutes past every hour for SmithtownRadio.com Anniversary Clues. Collect and record all the clues for your chance to win lunch (or dinner) on us from Sundried Tomato Cafe and Restaurant. The clues will be used to generate questions for Workday Trivia each weekday at 3pm.
And loyal listeners may notice the absence of the Fab Four during the 11am hour Don’t worry – we didn’t get rid of The Beatles and Tim Pounds all together. Tim and his producers are putting the final touches on a new show that will be coming your way soon. In the meanwhile, the lovely folks over at “Mamie & David in the Morning” will continue to fill the 11am hour.
In 2011, we look forward to expanding our relationship with Jamie Diamond and his “TechNight” brand. As well, as say hello to the many new faces of staffers and listeners yet to come.
As a radio station, we take our commitment to the community seriously and I encourage you to send any of your comments, questions or concerns my way.
Thanks to all who have made SmithtownRadio.com so great and we look forward to seeing you in 2011!
Sincerely,
James Brierton
